Getting closer to the finish line

We were so very excited yesterday when we found out that one of the little blastocysts was a Grade A/B which in the world of IVF means really really good. In fact so good that it was eight hours ahead of itself. Blastocysts two was a B/B which is still good. AND what is also great is that they froze the other two blastocysts, which didn't happen last time. So now it's time for the best part. Waiting. We will know in a few weeks when I go in for a blood test and then wait for that call. IVF involves a lot of waiting and patience. And needles.

Thank you guys for praying and thinking of us!! A special thanks goes out to Mike Duerson (who works for SLO Ambulence with Nick) who picked up and traded shifts with Nick so that we didn't have to stress about that. THANK YOU MIKE!!!!

Now onto the next thing, making a turkey for giving thanks day!!!

The Dr. said the baby babies are looking great!

So we were told today that all five embryos are looking great and we are on for a Thursday re-implantation! That is great news. We are constantly being encouraged by great news. Hopefully this is a trend. We will head down south Wednesday night so that we can be fresh on Thursday morning at 9am. Then we get to drive back home, sweet! After they are in we wont know anything until Sadie gets her blood test in two weeks or so. We will let you know more later.

Miracles happen to people you know....like us.

So while we were having a delicious breakfast at The Cheesecake Factory, I know all our stories revolve around food, Dr. Baby called Sadie. He said that Five eggs were fertilized and they were all fertilized with Nick's collected swimmers!!!!!! That is great. They flushed plan B down the drain, sweet see ya suckas. So we are headed home today, cuz we are tired of the smoke, ash and we miss our samson. Dr. Baby Said that he would call us tomorrow with an update and he will tell us if we are to come back down on Tuesday or Thursday. Thursday is better, cuz that means that the embryos are bigger and stand a better chance when they get tucked back into Sadie's incubator. We are getting closer to being done with the big stuff, but Sadie still has to get shots and take meds that are making her incubator more homey.
So we'll talk at you later, when we are home in Moron Bay.

We want EGGS. Don't care if they are organic or laden with hormones. Just get 'em

If you'd seen us walking today you would've thought Nick just got off his horse, by the way his legs were bowed. Sadie looked great, like normal. Sadie got her eggs removed today, YAHOO!!!! The Dr. said that they lasoosed 9 eggs out of her. Could've sworn there were more in there last time she had an ultrasound but, these were probably the toughest ones and the others weren't survivalists. Well we are plumb tuckered out and after we got home we ate some hoagies. Now we are on nap duty. Nick is still sore and took some more wonder pills. Sadie is just tired. We should hear from the Dr. tomorrow about the state of the eggs and how they are coming along after they got fertilized. The straight story about Nick's collection yesterday was not as numerous as last time, so we had to defrost plan B. We hope that it doesn't get used but, we are willing to do whatever it takes to have some lil ones so they can do the chores for us. That's all for now. We'll let you know when we know.

Nicks surgery

So Nick had his surgery a few hours ago. Poor guy! He is resting right now but it was a much bumpier ride then last time. They did not find as many sperm and had to "look" on both sides (all men should be cringing right now). He was in bad shape after but I got him home and he had a Jamba Juice he started to feel better.

More tomorrow!

It's on for shiz...finally!

So on a nice walk, after a belly filling session of gelato, Nick's phone rang"thunder cats". It was Dr. Baby. Sadie walked away so that she wouldn't have to hear the conversation if it were bad. The nurse must have been in a hurry or not as emotionally connected as we all are, cuz she just jumped in and said "ok Sadie must take her shot tonight and on Saturday she must be at the facility at 830 one hour prior to egg retrieval." Whoa...Wait a minute, so it's on? Right...Yeah we all knew that. Right back on schedule. There was no "Sadie and Nick we weathered the storm but now it all looks good. Lets move on to the next stage." I guess it doesn't matter her reaction. We are excited and that's what matters. So we are on for Nick's surgery on Friday 8am and Sadie on Saturday 930am. This is why we are here, for the fun surgeries. After that we will just wait to hear from Dr. Baby again, to hear when the fertilized eggs get tucked back into Sadie. Umm well that's all for today folks.

Deep sigh

Well it looks like Nick's surgery is going to be set for this Friday and mine this Sat. I do have to go in and get a blood test tomorrow to see if my hormone level is up to par. If the level is below 2000 then everything is off. A good level would be between 2000 and 4000. So we are still in limbo and while LA is neat we are ready to get things moving.

We did go to Disneyland yesterday (we thought of you Rebecca!) and that was fun. Today we tried to go to the Museum of Contemporary Art but they were close. We did go to a really cool farmers market that Joyce told us about. So many good foods to eat! I think tomorrow we will lay low and wait for the news.

More to come soon!

The one time I don't over pack...or...Nick and Sadie are moving to LA

So here's the scoop... We got the call that now it's looking like a Thursday or Friday retrieval which means they will put the embryos back next Wednesday. :) Had no idea that this was even a possibility but here we are! We've always wanted to vacation in LA (she says in a very sarcastic tone). But really, it is what it is and we are just laughing about it cause what else can you do.

That's it for now!

Divine Delays

We had a great day yesterday shopping and hanging out. It was so very windy but sunny! We did get a call from our Dr. that our surgeries would be pushed a day because some of my hormone levels are too high. It' s just a precaution and we are thankful that our doc is so careful.

So that's it for now! I will try to get some pics up on the blog soon!

Googly Eyes

So I came home the other night to find googly eyes on all of my plants! I laughed so hard. Click on the title of this blog and you will understand. And ALWAYS make eye contact.
